Step 1 – Find Your Host
If you have not already done so, then you need to decide on where you will be hosting your website. Look around for a website host that offers the services that you need at a price you are happy to pay. To install WordPress, you will need basic hosting along with a MySQL database, so look at the price of that. If you are creating more than 1 blog then maybe look at accounts that will host multiple websites, even reseller accounts.
If you are lucky you might choose a host that has one click WordPress installation. If so, then do the next step and the one click installation and forget the rest of the steps!

Do I Have to Be on Twitter?
Jun 17th
If you want to build your personal brand, establish an online presence, and be in the right place at the right time for your job search, then you have to utilize social media. The big 3 social media sites are LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. While LinkedIn is focused more fully on business, and Facebook leans toward the social, Twitter lands somewhere in the middle. Nearly 75 million people visited Twitter in January 2010.
Twitter relies on “tweets,” which are posts of 140 characters or less. They’re short, but frequent. Life moves fast on Twitter. But then, the world moves fast and this is a way to keep up. And yes, while some tweets are huge time-wasters (some of us don’t want to know what someone else had for breakfast), there’s quite a bit of useful information you can gain from following the right people. It’s both a way to research and a way to network. You can follow companies, customers, suppliers, vendors, industry experts, and recruiters who post jobs-anyone who’s going to be useful for you. You’ll be able to keep up-to-the minute current. And then you can be useful yourself-pass along job leads, industry info, or the great book you just read. Any help or advice you can provide your contacts is a nice way to contribute.
Embrace the Internet Technology With Websites
Jun 16th
“I don’t sell on the Internet, do I still need a website?” The answer is YES! Despite the advanced technology that surround our lives, a number of businesses today are still overlooking a major avenue for revenue, the World Wide Web. According to Statistics Canada, 19.2 million Canadians or 73% of the population over 16 years of age spend at least one hour a day on the internet. This is a huge margin for potential profit that no business can afford to overlook.
As a technologically advanced society, most consumers turn to the Internet first to find what they need; be it shopping, directions, research, services or others. The World Wide Web is your best avenue for advertising and marketing, and is the only employee that will work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. This will enable your products and services to be available to your consumers at all times at a fraction of the price it takes to advertise on radio, TV or in magazines.
