I’ve had several people ask me this – and the answer is – of course I am. The second part of my answer is usually what surprises them – SO ARE YOU! If you are reading this – I suspect you too are a blogger.

Have you ever updated your FaceBook status?

Have you ever posted a comment on MySpace?

Have you ever sent a tweet from your Twitter account?

If you have done any of the above – you are a blogger. A microblogger (is that one word?)

If you ever wanted to become a full-fledged blogger with your own website – heck – just find one of those status updates or comments – and elaborate on it. “…it sure is cold today. We got down to 15 last night.” A great status report on FaceBook – but it’s also a foundation and starting point for blog – how did that cold weather effect you? You could have a couple of paragraphs in just a few minutes.

So why blog?

If you own a small business – the answers are all over the place.

If you are a professional sales person – ditto.

If you are a Realtor – ditto.

But – I’m just an average person. I don’t own a business. I’m not one of those obnoxious sales freaks. I don’t run around with a sign on my car selling houses. Why the heck should I blog?

It’s fun.

It’s just a great hobby.

It keeps the blood flowing in the brain. Yep – you have to THINK when you blog.

It gives you a platform. Do you have a cause? Blog about it.

You can promote yourself – if you so desire. Future employment opportunities, career change, new business, the list is endless.

You leave your mark. Once you have taken the dirt nap – you have left a mark all across cyberspace (this does have it’s downside too – be careful what you write).

You might actually come up with something that makes you some money.

So – two things here -

1) You are a blogger already.
2) You don’t have to be a business person or sales fanatic to have a blog.

Happy Blogging!
